Music Trivia
8/16/2026 v1.1.000 Trivia Nights

Your playlist already has the music. We turn it into the game.

You spent years carefully curating playlists for every possible occasion. Road trips. Holidays. 80s night. Punk night. Songs everyone knows but somehow nobody knows the name of.

It’s finally time those playlists got a job.

Music Trivia turns virtually any public Spotify playlist into a ready-to-play, live trivia game in seconds.

Search for a playlist or paste a Spotify playlist link, choose what you want players guessing, and hit play. Music Trivia automatically builds the questions and answers from the actual songs in the playlist.

No writing questions. No building answer sheets. No spending three hours Googling “songs people know but don't know too well.”

Just bring a playlist and some people who are wildly overconfident about their musical knowledge.

Bring the Playlist. We’ll Bring the Questions.

Pick the soundtrack for the night.

Search Spotify for 80s, Classic Rock, Punk, Christmas, One-Hit Wonders, 90s Hip-Hop—whatever fits your crowd—or paste the URL of a public Spotify playlist you already love.

Music Trivia reads the tracks and automatically creates the game from the songs, artists, and albums in that playlist.

Your carefully curated masterpiece just became a trivia night.

Minimum requirement: 6 songs. Maximum requirement: at least one friend who insists they can identify any song in three seconds.

What Can Players Guess?

Choose what kind of musical humiliation you'd like to provide.

Song Title

Hear the song. Name the song.

Sounds easy until everyone realizes they've been singing along to it for 20 years without knowing what it's called.

Artist

Who performs this song?

Prepare for confident answers like, “That's definitely Journey.”

It is not Journey.

Album

For the people who actually looked at album covers instead of hitting Shuffle.

Mixed

Songs. Artists. Albums.

Nobody knows what's coming next.

As nature intended.

Features

Turn Any Playlist Into a Game

Search Spotify or paste a public playlist URL and Music Trivia automatically creates a complete trivia game from the tracks.

No question writing. No answer writing. No quiz-building homework.

Playlist in. Game out.

Play the Actual Music

Songs play through the host's own Spotify account while everyone tries desperately to remember what they're listening to.

Choose Automatic playback and let Music Trivia handle the timing, or switch to Host Controlled when you want complete command of the room.

You can even adjust the music volume without interrupting the game.

The Album Cover Is Part of the Puzzle

During the question, album artwork appears heavily blurred on the big screen.

You can see something.

Is that a face? A car? A beach? A deeply questionable 1987 haircut?

Then comes the Reveal.

BAM. Full album art.

Song. Artist. Album. Everything revealed at once.

Cue either celebration or:

“OH COME ON, I KNEW THAT.”

Wrong Answers That Actually Belong There

Random fake answers are easy to spot.

So Music Trivia doesn't use them.

Wrong answers come from other songs, artists, and albums in the same playlist.

Playing 80s music?

Everything feels 80s.

Playing punk?

Welcome to an entire screen of answers that all seem suspiciously plausible.

Good luck.

Bluff Mode

This is where friendships become interesting.

Players submit their own fake answer. Music Trivia mixes those bluffs in with the real answer, and everyone tries to figure out which one is correct.

Convince another player that your completely fabricated answer is real?

Bonus points.

Congratulations. Lying finally has a scoring system.

Typed Answers

Think multiple choice is for cowards?

Turn it off.

Players type their answers and the host grades them.

Spelling debates are complimentary.

Team Play

Divide the room into teams and combine musical knowledge.

One person knows classic rock.

One knows 90s hip-hop.

One knows every Taylor Swift song ever recorded.

And Steve contributes absolutely nothing but somehow celebrates the loudest.

That's teamwork.

Faster Answers Can Mean More Points

Turn on scoring decay and quicker correct answers earn more points.

Now knowing the answer isn't enough.

You have to know it before that annoying person at Table 4 does.

Prefer a more relaxed game?

Turn decay off and everyone gets the same points for a correct answer.

Civilization restored.

The Host Is Always in Control

Music Trivia doesn't suddenly decide it's running the evening.

You are.

Nothing advances until the host says so.

Move through questions one screen at a time, jump directly to a reveal, skip ahead to scores, change the next question format, restart the game, or head straight to Final Scores when everyone needs to go home.

Built for the Big Screen

Open the Heads-Up Display on a TV or projector and turn the room into a proper game show.

Questions.

Animated reveals.

Album artwork.

Live scoring.

QR codes.

Leaderboards.

All the important stuff is on the big screen while players answer from their phones.

No App Download

Players scan a QR code or enter the game code at hub.gig.game/play.

That's it.

No download.

No account setup.

No explaining to Uncle Dave where the App Store is.

Live Leaderboards

Show the standings between rounds or throw a question-specific leaderboard onto the big screen after a reveal.

Watch someone climb from 12th to 3rd.

Watch someone else discover that recognizing songs quickly is apparently their only marketable skill.

Fix the Score

Someone deserve points?

Give them points.

Someone typed the right answer but spelled it like they were falling down the stairs?

The host can grade it manually.

You remain the supreme musical authority.

Please use this power responsibly.

Handle Troublemakers

Every trivia night eventually discovers that person.

Hosts can block disruptive players immediately and remove them from the game.

They can be allowed back later.

Their score cannot.

Actions have consequences.

Message a Player

Send a private message directly to an individual player's phone.

Perfect for:

“You're up next.”

“Please pick a team name.”

or the timeless:

“Stop yelling the answers.”

Full Game History

Want to know exactly how the night went?

Review every question, every correct answer, every player response, every bluff, and who fell for it.

Yes, there are receipts.

Take a Break

Drop a promo, image, video, or audio break between rounds and then return to the game exactly where you left it.

Because even musical geniuses occasionally need another drink.

Your Music. Your Crowd. Your Game.

Music Trivia doesn't hand you somebody else's idea of what your crowd should know.

You choose the playlist.

That means tonight can be:

🎸 Classic Rock 🎤 90s Hip-Hop 🪩 Disco 🤘 Punk 🎄 Christmas 🎹 80s 💿 One-Hit Wonders 🎶 Today's Hits 🕺 Guilty Pleasures 🔥 Or that extremely specific playlist you've been maintaining since 2014

Music Trivia handles the game.

You handle the room.

How It Works

1. Pick a playlist. Search Spotify or paste a public playlist URL.

2. Choose your game. Guess the Song, Artist, Album, or mix them all together.

3. Put it on the big screen. Players scan the QR code and join from their phones.

4. Hit play. The music starts. The arguments begin.

5. Crown your champion. Preferably with far more ceremony than the achievement warrants.

Bring a Playlist. Leave With a Game.

No writing trivia questions.

No building quiz decks.

No separate music library.

Just the music you already love, a room full of players, and the sudden discovery that everybody knows the chorus but nobody knows the song title.
