Import Trivia Questions from CSV, Excel, or Text

Already have trivia questions in a spreadsheet? Now you can bring them directly into Gig Game without retyping them one at a time.

The Trivia Builder now includes a new Import Wizard supporting CSV, TSV, text, and Excel files. Whether your questions came from a previous event, a shared spreadsheet, or another trivia platform, you can import them into Gig Game in just a few steps.

How It Works

Choose Import from CSV or Excel under Add Bulk in the Trivia Builder. You can also import directly from Quick Trivia when you're putting together a game to play right away.

The wizard walks you through the process:

1. Upload your file — Select your CSV, TSV, text, or Excel file.

2. Check your data — Gig Game automatically detects common formats and delimiters, including commas, tabs, semicolons, and pipes. You can review the results and rename columns if needed.

3. Map your columns — Tell Gig Game which columns contain the question, answers, correct answer, and any other information you want to import. Your spreadsheet doesn't need to use any special column names.

4. Preview and import — See exactly how your questions will appear before they're saved. If any rows need attention, the wizard will let you know before you import.

Your question content isn't rewritten or changed during the process. What you import is what you get.

Import More Than Just Questions

The importer supports:

• CSV, TSV, TXT, XLSX, and XLS files
• Files up to 15 MB and 1,000 rows
• Standard, Majority Vote, and Survey Says questions
• Multiple question types within the same file
• Explanations, categories, tags, and difficulty levels
• Image URLs, allowing Gig Game to automatically bring in question images during the import
• Files with or without a header row

There's also built-in help and a sample layout right on the upload screen, so you can see how to structure your file before getting started.

Import Directly into Quick Trivia

Need to put together a game right now?

Quick Trivia now has its own import option. Upload your questions and add them directly to the game you're building without having to create them in the full Trivia Builder first.

So if you've already got 50, 100, or even 1,000 trivia questions sitting in a spreadsheet, you can now turn them into a playable Gig Game trivia set in minutes.
