Today we're rolling out a major GigGame update, headlined by an entirely new application: Music Trivia, powered by Spotify.
Music Trivia joins Bar Trivia and Trivia Night Player as a sibling experience in the GigGame family. While Bar Trivia is built around Game Show Packs and host-run questions, Music Trivia takes a completely different approach: bring a Spotify playlist, and Music Trivia turns it into the game.
We're also launching significant improvements to Bar Trivia and Trivia Night Player, including refreshed interfaces, new display modes, built-in help, and more control for live hosts.
Behind the scenes, we've made it easier to find, build, organize, and publish your game shows throughout GigGame.
Music Trivia is here — as an entirely new GigGame application.
Instead of starting with a Trivia Pack, Music Trivia starts with something you probably already have: a Spotify playlist.
Search Spotify directly from Music Trivia or paste the URL of a public playlist. Music Trivia uses the tracks in that playlist to automatically build a complete live trivia game.
No writing questions. No building a Trivia Pack. Just bring a playlist and play.
Players can be challenged to identify the song title, artist, album, or a mix of all three while the actual music plays through the host's own Spotify account.
The playlist itself provides the questions and even the wrong answers, keeping every game focused on the music you selected.
Want an 80s night? Find an 80s playlist.
Punk? Classic Rock? Christmas? One-hit wonders? Guilty pleasures?
Pick the playlist and Music Trivia builds the game around it.
Music Trivia also brings its own music-focused gameplay features, including blurred album artwork that becomes part of the puzzle, automatic or host-controlled song playback, multiple-choice questions, typed answers, and Bluff mode — where players can submit fake answers and earn bonus points when someone falls for them.
It's a completely different way to run a trivia night, built specifically around real music, real playlists, and live competition.

While Music Trivia introduces a new way to play, Bar Trivia remains GigGame's human-hosted experience for running Trivia Packs and other prepared Game Show content.
And we've made it better for the people actually running the room.
Bar Trivia has received a full visual refresh, with a cleaner, more polished interface designed to work across different venues and hosting environments.
You can now choose between bright, dark, and high-contrast display modes, helping keep your game easy to read whether you're hosting in a dark bar or a brightly lit event space.
New help screens are available directly inside the experience, making it easier to learn or refresh yourself on how things work without leaving your game.
Live events don't always go according to plan.
Bar Trivia hosts can now block disruptive users from the game, giving you another tool to keep your event running smoothly for everyone else.
You now have more control over when players see scoring information.
A new per-question option lets you decide whether point breakdowns appear on the reveal screen, making it easier to control pacing and suspense throughout your show.
Trivia Night Player has received the same major visual refresh, giving automated shows a cleaner and more polished experience for hosts and players.
It now includes the new bright, dark, and high-contrast display modes, so you can adapt the experience to your venue.
We've also added built-in help screens, making it easier to get up and running without having to leave the player to figure something out.
The result is a simpler, more accessible Trivia Night Player experience from setup through the final question.
We've made a collection of improvements to the rest of GigGame to make creating and managing game shows faster and easier.
We've reorganized the former Trivia area around Game Shows. Standard Trivia, Would I Lie, and Majority Rules ready-made content now live together under Ready-To-Run Packs, with tabs for quickly switching between formats.
We've also introduced clearer names throughout the platform, including My Customized Packs, My Question Catalog, and Community Marketplace.
When creating a Game Show Pack, you can now choose how you intend to run it: Trivia Night Player (Automated) or Bar Trivia (Human Hosted).
Human-hosted packs get a streamlined editor that removes AI host, voice, dialog, startup video, hold music, and other automated-show steps that aren't needed when you're running the show yourself.
You can switch between Human Hosted and Automated at any time directly from the pack editor.
The former Trivia Set Publisher is now the Game Show Publisher, with terminology and navigation updated throughout the creation experience.
The GigGame family now gives you distinct experiences depending on the kind of show you want to run:
Music Trivia — Bring a Spotify playlist and automatically turn its songs, artists, and albums into a live, host-driven music trivia game.
Bar Trivia — Run prepared Game Show Packs yourself with full control over the room, questions, pacing, scoring, and players.
Trivia Night Player — Let GigGame run your prepared Game Show Pack as an automated experience.

No action is required to receive the new interfaces, help screens, or display modes.
