We’ve made a major update to the way you create and launch trivia games, with one goal in mind: get you from an idea to a playable game as quickly as possible.

A New, Simpler Trivia Creation Flow

Gig Game can do a lot with trivia. In addition to standard trivia questions, you can build games with Majority Rules, Deceptive Questions, Survey Says, and more. You can even put your game on autopilot with one or more AI hosts, each with their own personality, interacting with each other within a situation you define.

But there was a downside to all that flexibility: creating a simple trivia game had become more complicated than it needed to be.

If your goal is simply to create 10 questions and run a trivia night, you shouldn’t have to navigate settings for multiple rounds, question types, AI personalities, narration, automation, and other advanced features just to get started.

So we redesigned trivia creation around a simple “golden path” for the way most games are created: create your questions, review them, and start playing.

All of the more powerful functionality is still there. We’ve simply moved it into Advanced Options, where hosts who want to build more sophisticated experiences can customize their game without adding complexity for everyone else.

The result is a much faster path from “I want to run trivia” to “let’s play.”

What’s Changed

  • Create from your game library. You’ll now find a Create a New Trivia Set card directly inside both Bar Trivia and Trivia Night, so you don’t have to leave the game library to build something new.
  • Three easy ways to add questions. Generate questions with AI from a topic, import them from a CSV, or paste/upload an existing text document.
  • Built-in help when you need it. We’ve added a new help system directly into the Trivia Quick Builder, providing guidance along the way without requiring you to leave the creation process to figure out what something does or what to do next.
  • Get playing faster. When you’re finished, simply choose Complete and Play, select Automated or Hosted play, and your game can be running within seconds.
  • Want to go further? Choose Advanced Options to continue in the full Trivia Set Builder, where you can configure categories, multiple rounds, difficulty levels, AI narration, advanced question types, AI hosts, and more.
  • More ways to make it yours. We’ve also added more than 40 new customizable trivia themes, covering holidays, business and corporate events, education, and life’s special occasions.

And importantly, we haven’t taken away the power of the full Trivia Set Builder. The new QuickStart experience is simply a faster path for hosts who want to create a game and start playing.

And remember, even after publishing, you can always unpublish a trivia set and continue editing it later.

Bar Trivia and Trivia Night — A Simpler Launch Experience

We’ve simplified the launch experience for both Bar Trivia and Trivia Night, making it easier to get your game in front of players without navigating settings you don’t need.

For Trivia Night, launch settings are now organized into Start, Options, Ads, and Timing, with related settings grouped together and advanced options kept out of the way until you need them.

A new, prominent Run Mode switch lets you choose between Host Controlled and Automated play. The rest of the launch experience automatically adapts to your choice, showing only the settings that apply to the way you’re running your game.

We’ve also improved our voice defaults. Automated games that include authored narration will now automatically use Interactive AI Voice, helping ensure answer reveals are narrated as intended.

Across both Bar Trivia and Trivia Night, My Trivia Sets and the new Create a New Trivia Set option are now always available directly from the game library — making it easier to create, find, and launch your games from one place.

Built With Your Feedback

This redesign is part of our continuing effort to make Gig Game easier to pick up and use without sacrificing the flexibility and power that make more advanced experiences possible.

A special thank you to James from the Game Show Team and the team behind What’s That Word? for taking the time to share detailed feedback and help us rethink the experience. Your input played a direct role in this redesign! And a big thank you again to everyone who continues to send us feedback.**

We genuinely use it.

Some of the best improvements to Gig Game come directly from watching how real hosts use the platform and hearing where we’ve made things harder than they need to be. In this case, that feedback helped us recognize that while we kept adding powerful new ways to run trivia, we needed to make sure the simplest way remained simple.

Keep the feedback coming!
