A list of UI/UX changes made to the app for easier use.
Player app (phone)
- Reworked the drawing screen to maximize the canvas area.
- Moved the color picker and brush-size selector into tap-up menus opened from toolbar icons.
- Reduced Undo and Clear to icon buttons; simplified the Submit button.
- Collapsed the multi-row tool palette into a single compact toolbar.
Host console
- Full UI redesign (new layout and styling).
- All existing controls and functionality preserved (prompts, AI prompt builder, prompt packs, save/load prompt sets, theme generator, ads/promos, music and AI host-voice settings, game flow controls, player list).
- Added sound-effect feedback with a mute toggle (setting is remembered).
- Added a "Copy join link" button.
- QR code and access code now stay visible at all times, plus a larger join area in the lobby.
- Player chips animate in as people join, with a join sound.
- Responsive/mobile layout fixes (settings panel slide-in; opaque panel background on mobile).
- Fixed the Remove/Restore button overflowing its card on player drawings.
- Background now falls back to the built-in backdrop when no theme image is set.
TV display (HUD)
- Rebuilt the entire HUD as a custom canvas renderer with all-new visuals (no longer the generic scene renderer).
- New animated screens: lobby, get-ready, drawing, guessing, vote/answer reveal, round score, ad, and final score.
- Added sound effects, floating emoji reactions, and a confetti finale.
- Added legibility treatment so text stays readable over any background (text outlines, top/bottom overlays, and panels behind content).
- Widened the vote/answer boxes (~2x) and raised them so they clear the QR code.
- Answer (round score) screen:
- Animated count-up tallies for how many players got it right vs. got bluffed.
- "Top bluff" callout for the player whose fake answer fooled the most people.
- Animated leaderboard: players start at their previous scores, show +/- point popups, then slide into their new positions as scores count up.
- Final score screen: winner banner plus the top standings.
- Large-group handling: lobby, round score, and final score now show a capped number of players plus a "+N more" summary, so the display stays readable from a handful of players up to 100+.
- Long names are truncated/fit so they don't overflow.
Behind the scenes (engine)
- New event contract between the engine and the HUD (the engine now tells the HUD which screen to show plus the data, rather than sending a full scene layout).
- Score data sends counts, the top bluffer, each player's previous score (for the leaderboard animation), and a capped leaderboard with the true total player count.
- Final-score and lobby data are likewise capped to a top set plus the true total.
- Fixed a reaction event that previously didn't reach the HUD.
- Music volume changes now update the HUD live without restarting the current screen.
