Trivia Question Builder: Bulk import prebuilt questions from CSV or a text document

The Add Bulk button now opens a picker with three ways to add questions in bulk:

• Import from CSV

  • Upload a spreadsheet and map its columns to question, answers, correct answer, explanation, category, tags, difficulty, and image URL.
  • A live preview shows exactly how your first few rows will come in before you commit.
  • Your data is imported exactly as it appears—nothing is rewritten.

• Import from Text

  • Already have a document full of finished questions (Word, PDF, or text file)? Just tell us the pattern that marks where each question starts (and optionally ends), and we'll split them out automatically.
  • A live preview highlights each detected question so you can confirm the split looks right.
  • Your question wording, answers, and explanations are preserved exactly as written—nothing is reworded or invented.

• Generate with AI

  • The existing AI question generator (freeform, from a topic, a web page, or a document) is still here, now grouped alongside the two new import options.

Which one should I use?

• If your questions are already in a spreadsheet (Excel or Google Sheets exported to CSV):

  • Use Import from CSV.
  • Your questions are imported exactly as they appear.
  • You map which columns contain the question, answers, correct answer, explanation, category, tags, and other fields.
  • No AI is involved in your content.

• If your questions are already written in a document (Word, PDF, or text file):

  • Use Import from Text.
  • Your questions are imported exactly as written.
  • AI is only used to identify where one question ends and the next begins, then extract the question, answer choices, correct answer, and explanation.
  • AI never rewrites, rephrases, or invents content.

• If you don't have questions yet and want new ones created:

  • Use Generate with AI.
  • AI creates brand-new questions for you, either from a topic you provide or based on a web page or document.
  • This is the only option where AI authors new content.

In short:

• Import from CSV and Import from Text both preserve your original content word-for-word.
• The only difference is the format your content starts in.
• Generate with AI is the only option that creates new questions from scratch.

More flexibility per question

• Questions can now have 2–8 answer choices (previously capped at 6), both for imports and in the standard question editor.

• Both importers now include an Answer Order setting:

  • Keep answers in the order they appear in your source.
  • Randomize answers automatically.

• Both importers also include Image Options:

  • Skip images.
  • Import an image directly from a URL in your data.
  • Have AI generate an image in your chosen art style.
