Smarter Contacts & a Sharper Email Editor

This update is a big step up for the Contacts area: richer contact records, list views you can shape however you like, smarter CSV/Excel importing, and email personalization. The Email Template Editor also got a redesigned formatting experience and a preview that finally matches what actually lands in the inbox.

Contacts

Richer contact profiles

Contacts now hold a lot more than a name and email:

• Company, Industry (from a standard list), and Stakeholder Role — Decision Maker, Influencer, Champion, Front Line, Gatekeeper, or Executive Sponsor.
• A full mailing address (street, city, state, postal code, country). Country is a dropdown of the complete country list, and the address is automatically placed on the map when you save.
• Everything shows on the Contact Detail page and is editable from the contact forms.

Custom fields per contact

• Set values for the custom fields you've defined under Contacts → Custom Fields, right from the contact editor.
• Need a field for just one person? You can now add, edit, or remove fields on a single contact without defining them globally.
• Renaming a custom field no longer breaks anything that references it.

A list view you control

The old fixed dropdown filters are gone. In their place:

• A Filter & Sort builder — filter by any field or custom field (with operators that fit each field type) and sort by a column. Active filters appear as chips you can click to remove.
• Pick your columns and their order — any standard or custom field.
• Your filters, sort, and column layout are saved to your account, with one-click Reset to the default.

Bulk group assignment

• Tick the checkboxes on the list to bring up a toolbar, then use Groups to add or remove the selected contacts to/from a group in one go.
• The contact editor now has per-group membership checkboxes, and the Contact Detail page shows which groups a contact belongs to.

Import from CSV / Excel

A new guided importer under Contacts → Import:

• Supports .csv, .txt, and .xlsx files.
• Walks you through it: upload → map columns (auto-guessed, with an Ignore option for ones you don't want) → set options → review results.
• Maps to any standard or custom field, skips mismatched cells instead of failing the whole row, can drop everyone into a target group, and handles duplicates (matched by Email, Phone, or both) three ways: Create duplicate, Merge & update, or Merge missing only.

Tip: Excel date columns can come in as raw serial numbers. For date-heavy files, CSV is the safer bet. Very large first-time imports may take a moment to finish.

A cleaner Contact Detail page

• Redesigned into clear sections — Contact, Classification, Company, Subscription & Messaging, Groups, Custom Fields, and Record — with an at-a-glance status chip row.
• Now shows Created and Last Activity dates.
• Group checkboxes in the editor list one per line for easier scanning.

Email

Personalize with custom fields

• In both the Markdown Quick Editor and the Rich Template Editor, you can insert custom fields as {{cf_slug}} placeholders.
• Each email is filled in per recipient. Anyone missing a value gets a clean blank — no leftover {{...}} tokens in the sent email.

Redesigned formatting toolbar (Rich Template Editor)

• The floating toolbar is replaced by a black formatting bar docked at the top of each text block. It sits in the layout and pushes text down instead of covering it, and grows taller as needed.
• Each block has its own A toggle in its hover controls to show or hide its bar (bars start closed on new blocks).
• Font, Size, Line Height, and Alignment now live in the bar. Font, size, and line height apply to the text you've selected; alignment applies to the paragraph. The left panel keeps Insert Markdown and Padding.

Per-column layout styling

• Each 1/2/3-column section now has separate styling per column (Left/Middle/Right) in its gear panel, alongside the section-level controls.
• Per-column options: Background, Padding, Border color, and per-side Border widths. These show live in the builder, the preview, and the delivered email.
• The gear panel is reorganized into compact, labeled groups.
• The "Max Width" setting is now simply called "Width."

Preview that matches the real email

• The preview now renders in an isolated frame, so the site's own styles no longer leak in — what you see is what gets sent. This fixes the extra paragraph spacing that used to appear only in preview.
• Builder, preview, and the sent email now share one consistent baseline, so paragraphs, lists, and headings look the same everywhere.
• Paragraphs no longer carry an automatic bottom margin — text sits tight, and you add a line break wherever you want spacing.
